BREAKING NEWS...American Davis Cup Hero, John Isner Confirmed

Just Announced...American Davis Cup Hero, John Isner to play

The latest star to confirm his participation at The Boodles is American Davis Cup hero, John Isner. The six foot nine Florida native has powered himself into contention for the biggest honors in the game, with hugely impressive performances during 2012 which have propelled him into the world’s top 10 players. His heroics in this season’s Davis Cup, where he has won all 4 of his singles matches, including a 4 set victory over Roger Federer in Switzerland, have cemented his super star status back home as well as helping the stars and stripes reach the semi final of the competition. He is also one of only three players to beat World Number 1 Novak Djokovic so far in 2012, alongside Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Britain’s
Andy Murray.

British fans may remember John best for not only taking part in, but eventually winning, the longest tennis match in history at the 2010 Wimbledon championships. His epic eleven hour record breaking match on court 18, played over three days, against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut, gripped not only the nation, but worldwide audiences.

John joins a stellar field at Stoke Park which already contains 2009 US Open Champion Juan Martin Del Potro, flamboyant Frenchman Gael Monfils, Olympic Gold Medalist Stanislas Wawrinka and mercurial talent Alexandr Dolgopolov. As players begin to turn their attentions to the grass court season, more stars will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
